What a trip! Took both goats on our first legal day to hunt and then sat in the rain for 6 more days waiting for the plane ride back to civilization (not really, it took 3 whole days to get camp and the goats off the mountain). In the course of hauling out the goats, one black bear (seen over 20+...one or two in the 7' range) in particular followed me over the mountain and eventually tried to claim all of our meat and camp. He unfortunately seen the last of his days when he wouldn't flee after several attempts from us to scare him off. For once this year, seen lots of game, had pretty good success, and was not without a challenge or two.

very nice Jim.
SHoot me an email with your info. I tried emailing you once I returned home from Wy to see if maybe you where still around, no luck.
I am headed out for goats also, down with a buddy of mine. He nailed a 9" billy with 5 1/2" bases with his longbow and saw between 18-20 more BILLYS!!! Also chasing deer for a week with him if all works out.
Looks like those classes with Mark and Chris are gonna be one right after another this year. And here I thought I was un employed LMAO ya right.
Btw, whats the story, complete details (day to day punches), partner, you know the gig. There is someone in idaho from the chatroom hoping to hook up with you so stop by. Heck for that matter my family heads to idaho every sept for bow elk so hurry up and get details, maybe I can swing on down and hook up with ya for some screaming, lungbustin action!
I called Bt taxidermy. He is gone hunting and his wife said he'd call when he returns. From what she is saying, I am pretty sure he's da man! I have already seen some of his work, and his passion is the same as ours.....jeesh why did ya wait so long to tell me !
Take care and keep in touch! The spare beds always there and we'll even leave the light on for ya
funny lamar, you are always asking for area specifics!

Too cool Dalli, congratulations! What were your GPS coordinates?
Are you going to rug out your goat, full mount, shoulder mount? Looks like he has a pretty coat on him. I can't wait to get back after them, they are a blast to hunt, even when you have over a foot of fresh snow.
Dan, I think you'll be real happy with BT, he does some great work. I have yet to hear anything but good reviews about him, and he did a great job on an antler mount for us, granted it isn't a shoulder mount, but his service was excellent.
Did you guys here about Brad Short? Dan, you and I had dinner with him a couple times. He poached a ton of moose in and around Fairbanks while he was stationed at Eielson, and got caught coming back up here to do a final hunt before he lost his residency. I've been talking with the troopers about him since Brad had called me about coming up for a hunt on the Haul Road and was going to stop by in Fairbanks on his way up north. They pulled him off the plane in Anchorage and arrested him, and he's off on $20,000 bail. I hope they hit him with everything he's charged with! Remember the first time we met him he had mentioned that he just got in from Texas, and barely got off on felony charges of shooting a deer on Private land? Wonder if he was so innocent on that one?

Dan
Yah Rich took off the day after I dropped my goat off to him. He (much like I was) is having a terrible season trying to connect with something. He headed up north after bou. There is no doubt in my mind you will like his work.
I seen your partner's goat over at the Bowsite. Congrats to him!
Yah, unfortunately I missed you coming back through town to get my belongings. I left Tuesday, and got into Boise yesterday evening.
I'll post some details on these goats in a few hours.
ABM
I'll fill you in on details in a bit...gonna go watch the new Anthony Hopkins flick out.
BTW, I didn't know this guy your speaking about.
BBL w/ details!

Those are some great photos! How did you get so close? I've always heard it's really hard to get that close to goats like that? Seriously! How'd you do it?
Very nice photos! Please honor us with the story...
