I wouldn't worry about using the bow. Any critter that big should be shot with a rifle LOL.

Seth,
I had a friend that recenlty went on a Bison hunt.He mentioned the Bisonwere very fast and spooked easily. You may have problems getting close enough to bow hunt. Them big bulls are much largerwhen close up. Depending on your hunt agreement there are specific Bison that can be shot. Each Bison had a color coded tag on there ear. Each color represents a particular cost$$. If this is your situation, then trying to locate a specific Bison can have it's challenges. Good Luck!! Keep us updated on your experience!!

This one was taken with a 60# Darton, 2216 Easton tipped with a 125gr. 3 Blade Rocky Mountain Ironhead at 41 yards-complete pass through. Meat is delicious-estimated 900# Cow. I got the shot at the end of the 2nd day of MANY unsuccessful stalks & ambushes on a 12,000 acre working cattle ranch in Texas. Story was in Spring Issue of NationalBowhunter Magazine. Good Luck. They are fast, unpredictable & be cautious-the adults fear nothing.

That sounds awesome! If I ever went on a bison hunt I would definitely bring my bow too. That's all I ever use for anything that you can use it on. It's much more exciting to have to wait until they come within 20 yards rather than just sit back and shoot them from 250 yards. Bow>Rifle in my opinion.
