Mules fighting?
Will mules respond as well to rattling as whitetail, and is the best time to rattle for them during pre rut, like whitetails?
|
RE: Mules fighting?
Yes, However... Youhave to remeber that they are not as aggresive as WT's.. So you have to not rattle as much... The best thing to use is a Doe bleat IMO...

RE: Mules fighting?
Doe bleat sounds about right. Pre rut, during the rut??
How often and how many bleats during each interval? Thanks guys. |
RE: Mules fighting?
You know, That all depends on your set up... And time of day. If I were hunting a water hole.. I would call a couple of times every five minutes or so. or if I was sitting in a saddle on a trail, It would be more repatitive. Doe bleat works all the time!

".... Mules Fighting?" "....Will mules respond as well to rattling as whitetail, and is the best time to rattle for them...." A fellow down the road 200 yards from our base camphad a pair of mules in an electric fence enclosure. He used them in place of horses both to ride and to packout elk. They seemed to get a long pretty well, soI didn't notice much fighting. If you rattled a grain pan and bucket first thing in the morning, they would come righttowards you all excited andwould bray from time to time which was surely a different kind of sound out in the elk woods. Made them real easy to locate though.... You're not seriously thinking of actually shooting mules are you? |
RE: Mules fighting?
Holy crap mules fighting. Where can you hunt mules? It must be on one of those exotic game farms or something like that, Huh? I'm up for any thing that's slower than my Swithback. LOL
