Heading to New Mexico for outfitted elk bowhunt next week. Didn't get drawn, so I've had to add a pricy landowner permit into the mix. One rule-of-thumb is 10% for the guide, with more or less depending on all the usual stuff. I'm assuming I use the base hunt price and not the combined cost. What have you guys done?

You know i figure unless you have a wonderful hunt and a great guide think the outfitter should tip his guide they are getting enough for the hunt as it is, if you do want to tip the guide do it according to his preformance.Don't want to sound mean but money is tight here.
