Thanks for the kind words. Elknut, with my sore back, those liquid vitamins will sure come in handy. I pulled my baitsite today and cleaned up the area. I think I might try it again next year. The bears were back in there again, but will do ok without the food as the mushrooms were everywhere. This is just what I needed to get me through until elk season. By then, my back should be better and the urge will be stronger than ever.

Congrats! That is a beautiful sow. What did she weigh? Great story. It really is rewarding getting them after all of that hard work!

I didn't put her on the scale, so I don't have a weight. She squared at just over 5 feet though. Not overly huge, but will make a nice rug. After all that I went through this year, I figured that she would do just fine. Her back has a redish color in it under black guard hairs with a white patch on the chest. The head and feet are pure black. She looked real cool at 15 yards standing up in front of me. I waited for her to go back down and get broadside before I shot her with my bow.

You and I should get together - I'm in Idaho (Sandpoint) and an irrational fear of climbing a tree. Where'd you get that nice bear?
