Default 2008 Honda Accord brake warning....

We are being told by Honda that anything over 16,000 miles is normal wear in the rear brakes. Yes, rear brakes. There is a major design flaw and they will not admit it or cover it. Seems that Honda is passing the buck like GM did. Great way to take care of your customers. I bought my first and last Honda. I dont know if the 09's are any better but I doubt it.

Maybe someone drove quite a while with the parking brake dragging?

Or maybe someone rode the brake alot?

16,000? So expect to do rear brakes about every year on the average? I suspect something wrong.

If they continue to go at 16K intervals I would have to point you to a brake shop that warranties the job for 50K or something. Paying once every 50K is much more like it.

And why did you post this here? This section is for selling stuff.

No we didnt have the parking break on. If you Google it you will see it's a huge problem with all 08 and 09 Honda Accords. They redesigned it so the rear does more of the braking and never upgraded the rear brakes. They are way undersized. It sucks they left the customers hanging on this one. They made a huge mistake and doesnt look like they will do anything about it.

I posted it here because I didnt see the proper place for it. I thought it may save someone else from buying one and getting stuck. Just tring to help others.
