JW, I think the odds of you seeing a cougar in WI are about as good as me seeing a moose in Louisiana, depending on what type of cougar you are talking about of course. We have plenty of snakes and insects here in LA., but in south Texas, everything sticks or bites you. I never come home without some strange bite or a thorn stuck in me somewhere.

They were gobbling this weekend on my place. From my high spot I could count at least 20 birds gobbling on the roost. I had 10 within 500 yards. I heard several all around farther away, when they are a long way off it's hard to tell how many were there. I heard birds gobble from at least 10 different locations from afar. That was just on one section of the farm. I'm going to listen on the other side this weekend. I don't start till middle of April. I'm taking a youth at the beginning of April.

Talondale Checking in. Hunting in VA. Our season opens April 13. Saw a bunch of birds on the way in to work today and one of those big boys was strutting his stuff. I've got a couple of sweet spots and will be trying a new farm of a friend the 2nd and 3rd day of the season. Some good opportunities coming up. Looking to contribute to the team.
