We had alot of rain before my season started and we have a big river thats runs through our land and we got so much that it started to flood and it ruined all our fields. It took out a whole field that was going to be corn. I was planning on hunting the fields, but i guess not.

Well my season ended today and didnt kill a bird. I hunted hard and had a bunch of close oppurtunities but came up short. My little brother ended up with a nice bird with a 9 inch beard. Good luck to the rest of you and sorry i couldnt score one for the team.

All of Wisconsin seasons are over. It was a crappy season for me this year.

Guys I think I have the record......for the smallest bird of the year. I should have posted this earlier. Killed on 5/10/08 at 11:50am, ten minutes till quitting time, shot 50 yards from my truck. I was calling it a day at about 11:30 and heard a gobble on the way back to the truck, but I thought it was across the road and across a small creek, but figured what the heck I'll call to him. Called to him, got him to gobble twice, sounded like he was getting closer but I wasn't sure. It was getting late so I walked real slow looking to see if the bird was coming in quiet. I got to the top of a ridge that was literally 75 yards from my truck when I saw him pop up over the ridge on the trail I was taking. He ran to the left, I waited till he got to an opening and drilled him. That jake crossed a road and possibly a creek to meet his demise.

Here are the specs:
15 lbs
1" beard
1/8" rt spur (nub)
1/8" lft spur (nub)
A whopping 20.5 points by the calculator.

Beat that guys.....
