well guys my first saturday was a complete bust.... they jus would not gobble..!!!!! they gobbled for maybe 2 times on roost a mile away an that was it... very disappointing day.. ahh well...i sure hope the next 4 saturdays get better..thats about the only time im gonna be able to hunt them..

I hope it gets better also. The Pa. youth season was Saturday and we killed one but not a lot of gobbling. Worked out that we hit some that gobbled enough.

I COUNTED DOWN TO A BIG FAT ZEEERRRRROOOOO !
3 OR 4 TOMS GOBBLING ON THE ROOST,HIT THE GROUND AND WENT THE OTHER WAY.MY BRO-INLAW MISSED ONE OFTHEM WITH A BOW AND TWO HOURS AFTER I LEFT,MY COUSIN KILLED 1 OUT OF 6 IN THE SAME FIELD. TEMPS WERE OVER 80 DEGREES.WENT BACK AT 5 AND SET UP ONLY TO HEAR A FOUR WHEELER START UP AND CRUISE THE NEIGHBORS WOODS.
THINK I'LL GO ELSEWHERE TOMORROW.

Hey guys. I am back from Michigan! My father and I connected on two nice toms.I had to kill one that my Dad rolled and it is pretty messed up.
The next morning Dad killed one outright at 44 yds. at 6:40 am. Still hadhens in the trees when he flew down and strutted right to us.Awesome hunting in Michigan. You can see in the picture how dark it is yet in the background. Plenty of light to shoot but not for the camera.

Here is one of the ugliest birds I have ever taken!!! I had to make the killing shot after my Dad rolled him. No fan for the wall off this bird. At least he was recovered.
He scores:19.5 + 8.75 + 10 + 19.25 = 57.5

Here is my Pa. bird. Scored 58, which is .5 higher than my first one. I may have to change the score to give us that extra .5 Story is on the turkey hunting forum below.
