RE: Team #10!!!!!! Check In Here!!!

Welcome Jim...!!

Hey Team I guess the 11 people to a team deal kinda throws our name out??????

"11 for 11" just dont quite have the same ring to it does it?? Haha!!
Nothing against you Jim, so maybe we need to find another name or we can just say the heck with it???

bobfm10350 03-16-2008 08:06 PM

RE: Team #10!!!!!! Check In Here!!!

I think we should just go w/ 10 for 10 unless Jim or anyone else has another idea. Anyways "10 for 10" is talking about team 10 right?:eek:Welcome to the team Jim.
Thanks for the help everyone
What brand of calls do you recomend?
Decoys Necissary?

PYbuckhunter 03-17-2008 05:30 PM

RE: Team #10!!!!!! Check In Here!!!

I guess they're assigning alternates to the teams. We could end up with more.
Western~~ you're right 11 for 11 just does not have the same ring to it.
What's everyone else think about the team name. Should we keep it or find another one!

Suggestions,

"Limbhangers"
Team "Full Choke"

Or we could incorporate the 10 for the team #10this way!
"Turkey Hun10 Fools"

WesternMdHardwoods 03-19-2008 06:15 AM

RE: Team #10!!!!!! Check In Here!!!

Hey all when you do kill a bird, you just need to take a few measurements.... total weight of turkey, length of left and right spurs, and length of beard and put them all in here...http://www.nwtf.org/all_about_turkeys/turkey_score.html

Once you do that post your score and a picture of the turkey , along with info of where you killed it and with what and I will take care of the rest!!

RE: Team #10!!!!!! Check In Here!!!

dang i hate to let you down guys but it was a really slow morning.....i only heard two gobbles the whole time and they shut up quick right after that :(. i think i know the reason why though. we had a sudden cold snap last night and it was 37 degrees this morning, and as i've learned in the past nothing gives a south georgia gobbler a case of lockjaw faster than a cold snap. but i'm going back this afternoon and tomorrow morning, so maybe i'll get one before the weekend is over. i've patterned several birds on a small food plot back in the woods. i just hope the cold doesn't throw them off too! anyway i'll let y'all know how it goes tonight

i'm ready for tomorrow morning guys i've had to work all weekend and last weekend was pretty slow, i came close to killing one but he circled above me and wouldn't come downhill to my calls, just stood there and gobbled just out of range![:@]but hopefully tomorrow will be a different story, and i hope to be checking in tomorrow with a pic of a big ol south georgia gobbler!

PYbuckhunter 03-29-2008 04:48 AM

RE: Team #10!!!!!! Check In Here!!!

Well I'm all set for tags...officially.Just got done buying two extras for the later periods.
1 tag for April 23-27
1 tag for May 14-18
1 tag for May 21-25
Have 3 1/2 weeks left until I can get in on the action.
25 days and counting!

Been seeing a good number of birds. We had a pretty hard winter and a few birds were found dead. But overall they seemed to come out of it in fair shape. Looks like there will be plenty of gobblers to chase around for a couple weeks. They might be a little light, but as long as their carrying a long beard it won't matter.

Good Luck to all!

The Missouri youth season ought to be good. The birds are really getting fired up. Heard 3 right behind my house and they gobbled good even off the roost. Hopefully every kid that goes will score on a big tom. I think I'm more exited about taking my son hunting than i am about going.

My brother has been hearing the gobblers in the morning, and im starting to see tracks all over the place. The hens are still going to a big cornfeild down the road to feed in the morning.

RE: Team #10!!!!!! Check In Here!!!

well my season has been a little frustrating this year lol i've called up four or five decent gobblers but i passed on them because they just weren't quite big enough. what was really frustrating was about a week ago. i called a huge longbeard out of an oak bottom one morning and he came straight up to me, but i forgot about a large creek that was betweenme and him. he followed his side of it and ended up above me, but refused to cross the water. he was just out of range and i only caught a couple glimpses of him as he walked by the creek, but i could tell immediately he was one of the biggest gobblers i've ever called in. anyway i'll cut this novel short ;)hope to be checking in with some good news soon good luck everybody
