Hey yall! Ive been hearin quite a few birds! Heard 7 different birds at one spot the other mornin! Several others at a few other spots so...its lookin good:DJust got till the 21st, so close yet so far away!

Well I leave for Kansas 2 morrow an im excited ill be hunting for a whole week so i hope ill be able to put a bird on the board.

Truly a Lucky Day
If y'all remember, I've tried to call in one of these birds (not sure now which one was dominant), for 4 weeks, I call, they/he would go away.

This morning I got to my blind at 5:45 a.m. To my surprise and good luck, an (about) 7 or 8 foot limb had fallen out of a tree and thru my blind, tore out the left side. Had I been sitting in it, the limb would have probably hit me in either my left thigh or stomach.

At 7:00 a.m. he gobbled almost over me. Another gobbled behind me. A little later the one behind me walked by, no shot. The bird over me gobbled again, 3 hens flew down, and then him around 7:15. Him and the other gobbler left me and the hens. The hens fed around me until about 8:05. Couldn't see them anymore. Then on my left a bird gobbled almost on top of me. I looked and he was standing there, when he went behind a tree I got my gun up, another gobbler comes into view, I shoot the first one, the second runs off and comes back when he hears all the flapping of the first. He actually jumped about 3 feet in the air and lands on the down bird. I shot him off the first bird. I have seen this on tv but in all my years of hunting I had never seen it happen.

Here's the fiqures with no score, I'm gonna take a nap then score them.

Bird N0:1 Beard-11 3/4 inches, Left spur-1 & 3/16, Right spur-1 & 1/8th in., weight- 18.2

Bird No:2: Beard-11 & 3/16th in.
Left spur: 15/16ths
Right spur: 1 & 3/16 in.
weight: 20.2 lbs

I'm done for the year, going fishing now. Hope y'all have a great season.
