Default RE: Q2 XL string noise

Jim,

While looking at your cam from the side you will notice that your cam has two small holes in it, one at the top and one at the bottom. If you take a straight edge (square) or a string and lay it along (or line it up with) these two holes the straight edge or string should be parallel (or close) to your Zebra string. If it is not you may need to add or remove twists from your cable to get your cam in time. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it should be close. If the cam gets too far out of time then you will get some string noise and some hand shock.

Your shop guy would be correct IF he was speaking about cam synchronization which is different thant cam timing. In cam synchronization (two cam bows) you must synchronize the rollover of the upper and lower cams. However, with your Q2XL that has one cam and an idler wheel, this is not needed. But, the solo cam itself DOES need to be in time with the system. Good Luck!!
