I figured since all I ever post are ?s, I would post somthing new. Today I fished a river about two miles from my housre, the river flows thru a deer yard that most years holds about 5-10 deer. I dont think most of ya will know what a deer yard is because I think they are only common in areas that get lots of snow and cold. The deer migrate to places were there will be less snow accumulation, they feed on the ceders that grow in these areas. Well back to the story, I was making my way up stream stoping here and there to fish my favoret holes. I had just reriged for the 60th time and was focused on the task at hand. Out of the corner of my eye I caught movement in the woods across the river, It was a deer going fulltilt. I could just see the lower half of it body making it way towards me. without a hesitation this deer jumps in the river. This time of year a river is no place to be jumping in to. The river is only 15ft wide were he was crosing, but the water was high and moving realy good. Well he started out about 20 yards up stream but ended up washing down right under my feet. I froze as this paniced deer climed its way up the bank. He was so close I could hear his breath as he strugled out of the water. Without a look he was out and standing right next to me, he stumbled, looked across the river and was off with on leap. I dont think he ever saw me. He was within arms reach and was so scared that he never even knew I was there, or mabe I was less of a threat to him then what ever he was running from (without a bow I am not much to wory about, even with a bow i am not much to wory about). What ever was after it never shoed up, most likly a wolf, or someones dog. I just thougt you guys would enjoy something different then the normal questions.
