but i still dont think a calf would weigh 300 lbs
Once you add guts, hide, legs and head a calf will be 300lbs(plus) on the hoof.
My bull last fall was in the 500 lbs range (hanging weight) and he was not the biggest in the forest either. They are 1000lbs animals when mature on the hoof, so calves weighing 300 would be not out of the norm.
I thought BC had the bigger species of canadian moose...LOL!
