The place I go to in Northern Ontario charged $600 US a few years ago. That was the hunt, boat, gas and bait. No meals.

Last time we went, the price was about $850, and for what we were getting, it was too much. We did all the skinning, packing and everything. The guide didn't even provide transportation or meals. We shot bears from 175-350 pounds.

All we were paying for was a place to sleep, fishing and the use of his bait sites. There were 4 of us, so he got roughly $3500 out of us, and all he actually had to do was bait.

I think that $1000US is a fair price if the meals are included, and all the hunter has to do is get there.
