I got a call the other day from a guy that lives about 25 miles from me and wanted me and another guy to get together and score a bird he got a few years back. At first I thought it might be a joke or trick but he brought it to my house and I could'nt believe it. All he had was the dried beards that was still attached to the breast skin, It was just a jake and the records where he checked it showed that he weighed about 16 1/2 lbs, and 1/2" spurs, but all the beards was awesome, he had 2 that was a little over 6" each and the rest of them measured between 2 and 3 inches. He had been working with the Mo. Dept. of Conservation and the NWTF to get him scored. The NWTF says that the record they have on file is 9 beards and if he could get 2 members of the NWTF to certify that it was real that he may hold a new record for number of beards.
