Did you feel that mechanical releases sohould have stayed banned ? 65% letoff against the rules ? How about mechanical broadheads ? Fiber optic sights ?
At what point can you see a compound NOT being archery anymore ? Because it damn near there right now - at that point will you lobby to stop the advancements of the compound ? No, you wont. You'll buy that bow or add that gadget because it'll make you shoot better, more accurately, and it'll increase your chances to kill a deer. Thats what bowhunters demand .......... its also the exact thing they argue against on crossbows.
Can you say hypocritical ?
So...what? since we are already screwed let's just throw in the towel? Not me. Alot of the advances in recent years are options, not necessarily standard. IMO, there is a huge difference between only holding 20% of the weight and holding 0% of the weight. Also, the number one reason I fight xbows is the fact that you can sit on your arse, prop that baby up against your climber and shoot whatever comes into range, without moving a muscle.......Now, that is not bowhunting, atleast not the way I've done it for the past 15years. Sure, it looks like a freaking bow, but it's not a bow. Sure, it has similar effective ranges, but it's not a bow. If you don't have to draw, hold by hand, etc, it's not a bow.
Now, I realize ya'll have tried to debunk those 2 arguements over the last 80 pages, but the fact remains that anyone that shoots an xbow will have baby propped up, taking a riflemen approach to shooting game. That is not bowhunting. Oh sure, there are products for the bow that do the same, but they should be just as illegal as the the xbow is and in most states I believe they are.
You can show your pic of the concept 99, the draw lock, the bow holder, etc, but the fact remains that those items are extreme, considered illegal in many places for hunting, and are not used by the hunting community for all practical purposes.
