I'm from Nevada and am pretty involved in politics. The other thread about Reid being a socialist liberal piece of crap is completely true. However I think that he is genuine on this issue. you have to understand Nevada. election wise its always very close in the stae, Reno is slightly conservative, while Vegas is VERY liberal, and EVERYWHERE else is VERY coservative, so reid has to walk the reelection tightrope very carefully, occasionally he champions an issue that will get him local vote from the moderate conservatives,without endangering his national socialist buddies. so he takes on an issue thatll please locals but has very little impact on demos nationally.
