Morning Bob, The problem with youth calls is you can't get the same cuts in the top reed. So I buy doubles and triples and put the cuts in them myself. The triple reed youth calls are hard to find. The cut I like the best is a split V, and I like this in a triple reed call. But as for a higher pitch, not a problem. Now I use a box and a slate and the mouth call all at the same time in the field. Flock calling, generally it makes toms very vocal. If toms start coming in, back off to a mouth call to finish with. But it sounds like you are doing well, great! Look at the Mini Diamond by Diamond calls.
