RE: please tell me just one negative to crossbows
Can you give some statistics on how many less deer are killed because of hunters wearing orange? Other than a little inconveinence I sincerely doubt that it has any effect on the number of deer killed throughout the state. I have not seen any difference when wearing orange while bowhunting, which I do throughout the gun season here in Arkansas. I have been doing it for years and never seen a difference whther I was wearing orange or not. So since all we have is anecdotal evidence, unless you can show me some studies that may change my mind, we'll just have to agree to disagree on whether or not hunter oragne is actually a negative. in fact the opposite could be argued since there have been postings here about people being shot with compounds during the archery season, wearing hunter orange could be viewed as a positive since it increases hunter safety. But are we talking a state wide policy here or just on the base? If so could it be the person in charge of safety there just felt this would be an added precaution against liability. Many such institutions do go above and beyond when it comes to safety or could it be the person in charge of safety and or the training officer have a grudge against crossbows?
