Default RE: please tell me just one negative to crossbows

I think all would happen is people that LOVE to hunt would buy crossbows.
It's funny you said that, I posted a while back about "true" hunters and nobody responded to it. My way of thinking is simple, if you love to hunt you will hunt with anything that is legal to hunt with so I agree with you.

I hunt or have hunted almost everything you can here in the lower 48 with many different types of weapons. This is why I see no problem with crossbows. I think too many people here think the world of hunting revolves around hunting with a bow and never even think to broaden their horizons.....it makes for narrow thinking.

So to me it just looks like you are trying to make the croosbow people more MONEY
While I agree crossbow "people" would make more money, but that is not what i'm after here. I am just trying to say it's ok to allow a new type (although it's not new, it's been around for centuries) of bow to be used during the archery season.

Do you think it was right, years ago to let compound bows into the archery season? After all they were vastly different than the long or recurve bow. Far easier to use, longer range, could be held at full draw far longer than traditional bows. They had sights, a trigger release, were more compact than a long bow and you could hunt from more concealed places and so on.

Do you think that was a correct decision?
