It dose not take much KE to kill a deer.Just about any crossbow at 85 yards has that much.
KE isn't the question - the distance is the question. And hey .......... compounds can do the same thing, right ?
I am an avrage bow shooter. Put a crossbow in my hands I could shoot a 3 in goup at 60 yards eazy.SCOPE is a big difrantce and puting it aginst your sholder to sturdy it.
I'm an average recurve shooter. Give me a compound and I can make 50 yard shots. Big difference. See ?
My wife can bearly shoot 55# bow but she can dang shure shoot my crossbow at 60 yards and hit a 3 in target.
Good for her ! She likly couldn't hit squat with a recurve at 15 yards.
Try to lay down with your bow and shoot
check - yes, i can do that
You can use things to strurdy your self with a crossbow. {JUST LIKE A RIFLE} TRy to put your bow aginst something to sturdy it and see what happens.
You can steady yourself with a compound too. And you can shoot a crossbow off handed. Whats the point again ?
TRY TO SHOOT YOUR BOW OUT THE WINDOW.
Why ? Its illegal to hunt out of the window, why would I want to practice ? But ..... hmmmmmm, yes, I could probably shoot out of the window of a vehicle with my 45# limbs. Sounds tough .... I might have to try that some day though I still don't se the practicality behind it.
As I said they may be made the same but in NO way are they the same to hunt with.
You mean of course a compound and how they are compared to a recurve - right ?
Double Creek
I think just assuming that since AR, OH, and GA have not had any ill effects does not automatically assume each state will follow suit. You must consider terrain, deer herd, hunter numbers, season lengths, bag limits, etc.
ahhhhhhhh, this is true. However, you have to accept what has transpired in those states and use that information to make an informative decisions. To say "we'll lose season" or "bag limits will be reduced " - its simply not true, its never happened. Most anti-crossbow people never acknowledge those vital pieces of statistical data - and they should. G&F Commissions do for sure.
So to me it just looks like you are trying to make the croosbow people more MONEY.
Then its reasonable to say that you and the others are trying to make the compound people more money ? Bowtech, Mathews, AR, Bear/Pearson/Jenning .......... you don't think they throw money to FIGHT crossbows ? Of course they do - its in their best intrests to do so
