RE: ? early rubs??
Rubs mark a bucks territory. A buck won't rub a tree in an area he doesn't live in. If you find a lot of rubs, then you know a buck is in the area. If you find a rub line, it's showing a travel route for a buck. Where I hunt I found a rub line of about ten rubs. From one rub you can see another tree with a rub. I followed this last season and found myself standing in what looked like a bed. Tree climber touched on the good buck deal. Large antlered bucks rub big trees, but small ones will rub small trees. Large bucks will rub small trees also, but small ones won't rub large trees. So if it's a fat tree and it has a rub on it, count on it being a larger deer.
