Well, if you were shooting a multiple pin setup, I'd say your 30 pin is too long. With a sliding sight, either there is something wrong in the works, like a burr that's binding the sight bar, or it's an operator malfunction. Do you see any unusual wear in any certain part of the slide? How long has it been since you took it apart and cleaned it?
