I work at a TV station and I must agree you need a tripod depending on how big the camera is, how good your steadiness is, how far you must walk, and if the camera mounts on your shotgun or bow. Also I'm going to tape my turkey hunt and I'm going to take a small Panasonic DV cam with a tripod and sit it in my blind (bow) and I'm trying to put camo netting on all of the cam but the lens. Lastly, I don't know if you plan on selling this tape or if it's for your own enjoyment, but unless you can operate the camera and your gun or bow- don't do too much zooming in and out, and don't zoom in too tight.
