Decoys can be both helpful and a hinderance. I'd say the birds I've had come in to decoys were about the same number as those that had no visual stimulation and came to just calling alone. Gobblin Buck is correct, in that the Tom saw your decoys from too great a distance. My guess is that he's at least a 3 year old and has played the cowboys and turkey hunters game before.
