A .300 Wby. Mag. using Weatherby 200 gr. Nosler Partition @ 3,060 f/s 4,158 ft/lb will be devastating on elk.

If you handload, you can push a 200 gr. bullet around 3,150 f/s 4,419 ft/lb.
