MA Jay - I can't remember who that guy is ?? But why is he taking the easy way out and shooting a compound ? The gal in the second picture is taking on a much greater challenge, isn't she ? The first guy just needs to put more time and effort into it, wouldn't you say ? And hey .......... you compodun hunt, right ? Why ? Why don't you use a recurve ?

The Department also offers permits to people with disabilities who want to hunt using a crossbow. To qualify, you must have a permanent physical disability that prevents you from using a conventional bow or a compound bow.
For more information, contact the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department's Business/Licensing Division, 603-271-3422 or via email:

Now just to be sure, I called that number and the gal said yes, handicap hunters CAN use crossbows in legal archery season using archery tags if they have the right forms completed and signed by a doctor to do so.

silentassassin - he wants to make it only as tough as he himself makes it. Had he any challenge in himself at all, he'd use a drawknife, and whittle on osage staves until he made a few self bows that didn't explode while he was tillering them and hunt with them. but no ........... he chooses the easy route of the compounds. Right ?
