Default RE: Where to learn the technical side??

If you really want to start learning quickly, I think one of the best ways, is to start working on older bows and your friend's bows. Myself, I got a bow press, a serving jig with serving string, bow tuning tools and I started taking my older bows apart and putting the back together. Once I got confident with tuning and serving strings, I started volunteering to help friends out. Most of them don't know how to fine tune their equipment and wouldn't even think of serving their strings or changing a cable. At this time I've started making my own strings, not to save money, but to get the quality I want and to never have to worry about being caught without a good string. There is nothing that is extremely complicated. Getting a bow shooting well with a basic tuning is fairly easy.

There is a lot of info on the net and in books to help you along the way. If you find something that stumps you, post a question here and you're likely to get more suggestions than you want.
