RE: Where to learn the technical side??
Other than some books and magazines along with many websites I don't know of any classes for it. I'd bet that most of our tech guys here learned as I did myself, through experimentation, experience working in the industry and hands on approach.
I know of no better place to learn than this forum alone. I honestly feel we have some of the best technical oriented members on the web today and although many of them share in other forums as well, they all seem to come together here to solve almost all situations. All one needs to do is ask and the wealth of information is endless.
I applaud you for wanting to open a shop. It's no easy task, especially with the Walmarts, Bass Pro, Gander Mt. superstores that everyone is in AAUHH about. I find the little shops to be the most personal and probably the most efficient. I myself would/have opened a shop some time ago if it wasn't for the demanding hours. I frequent many in my area and offer up to date information, tutorials and what not where I can. They all seem to do rather good however I am disappointed at the amount of people who flocked to the new Gander Mountain and forgot about the little guy.......
