Default RE: .45 cal for Elk

Hey Rog, I mainly hunt whitetails with my Traditions rifle and it's a .45 cal. For them I shot 100gr of loose powder behind a 200gr Hornady or Barnes sabot and have gotten excellent results with both out to 150 yards.
If you've got one of the new Traditions bolt action rifles it should be able to hold 150 grains of powder, that combined with a 300+ grain sabot should be sufficient to drop an elk out to 100 yards I'd say.
