Here in the northeast what do you feel makes your chances harder to kill a gobbler?
On public land I think hunting pressure makes the birds call shy.They see hunters walking everywhere calling and are getting spooked which really makes them cautious.
I'd say the second obsticle would be the amount of hens in the area.
