I'm a Remington fan. $ for $, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a better rifle. The triggers are terrific and easy to adjust (or have adjusted) and I've never owned a bad Remington. Like everyone has said, find the rifle that fits YOU the best. As far as the .300 goes, it's a great do everything round. Good Luck
