Don't forget...tons of RECOIL, tons of money, tons of powder, tons of heat, pitifuly short barrel life, and it won't kill any animal any deader than a .300 Win Mag, .300 WSM or .300 Wby. Mag at the same ranges. The .30-378 is beyond the realm of practical, IMO. It may have a place in 1000 yards competition, but as a practical hunting cartridge under realistic conditions, there are just too many drawbacks to outweight it's paper performance, and too many cartridges that will do exactly what it can do with far fewer drawbacks.
