Well, opening day was Tuesday and I had a great plan to hunt a green field that I'd seen 5 good longbeards in. Had been planning to hunt the area for a couple weeks. Then, on Tueday morning, I changed my mind when I got to the club and opted to hunt another green field that was a bit closer. I didn't hear or see anything. When I decided to leave, I looked across the clear cut to the other green field I'd been planning on hunting and what do I see, a nice tom feeding in it.[:@] I went around to that side of the property and parked about 1/2 mile from the green field and tried to slip in closer using the terrain for cover. It worked good. Right up until the bird saw me from his new position at about 50yds and caught me off guard when he flushed. Scared the crap out of me. Oh well, I'll get him hopefully Saturday morning.
