I'm not a pistol afficionado (I do carry), and I don't have a significant collection. However, I can be somewhat picky, and I always like to shop around and compare different makes and models. The two main features I look for in a handgun are price (I like to keep it below $500) and reliability.

When it comes to revolvers, I prefer Ruger. For pistols I tend to go for Springfields.
