The Springfield XD will be the new Glock. Because it is a glock and a half, in effect taking the best of the 1911 and glock and putting them together.
I don't think the XD will take over for the glock... Don't get me wrong, I LOVE my XD, but I think the Glock has a well-earned reputation. My only problem is they do not fit my hand well and are not intuitive to point for me. That is why I am getting rid of my Ruger. I hate dumping it... For a $300 pistol it hasn't malfunction once with around 1,000 rounds through it. The XD is just great though. But I do have to admit I like the Steyr sights although again, it does not fit my hand well like the XD.
