The weather finally got decent enough today that I had some time after work to do some longer range shooting with the Allegiance. I only shot for about a 1/2 hour or so, but from what I did do, I'm impressed. I think I may need a 1/16" centershot adjustment to bring the groups into better alignment, but this bow will shoot.
I shot out to 50 yards tonight and was consistantly holding 4" groups at that distance. What really gets me, is I didn't have to really, really drill my concentration down to do it. Most of my previous bows required a very high attention to detail on my part to ensure this accuracy. I'm not saying I still don't, but this bow seems very forgiving in my hands.
I attribute most of this to the grip. For years I"ve shot Hoyt and their grips are very thin. Last year I struggled with consistant hand placement with the Xtec. The grip on the Allegiance is very repeatable for me and my left and rights have all but disapeared. Its a little meatier than a Hoyt grip.
Just thought I was share my experience with this bow. I'm definitly liking it. Can't wait till weather really starts to improve and I can spend some time with bare shaft tuning.
