I have a Savage .204 and love it. I use it for Coyotes and blowing rabbits to peices. I did alot of research on buying a varmit rifle before buying the .204. The reason that I chose the .204 over the 22-250 was that the .204 is faster 4250 fps and does just as much damage. But the main reason was barrel wear. The .204 tests have proven that you can shoot it all day long and not have to worry about barrel wear. The 22-250 is known for having a short barrel life and losing its accuracy. As for ammo prices the .204 prices for ammo are slowly going down. I can pick up a box of hornady vmax 20 count for $12.99 a box. The 22-250 is the same price or maybee a dollar cheaper. Remington and Winchester are starting production within the next few months and I expect prices to drop even farther. Just my 2 cents.
