My younger brother bought one of the 710s in 30-06 - and while it may not be pretty, it killed a deer this year and cost half as much as I paid for my used 700BDL back in 1989.

Granted, I wouldn't trade my 700 (Certain Death) for anything, but he didn't want to drop $600 or more for a gun he was only going to shoot half a box through each year (if that).
