Depending on the bow you shoot a 10yrd pin is not needed with my bow which is only has an ibo at 305fps and I shoot 2413 XX75 arrows my 1st pin is basically dead on from 1 to 20yrds So if I were you I would start at 20yrds for a first pin and maybe go 2nd pin at 30-35yrds it all depends. you don't want your pins to close together and at the moment of truth when you draw back and its a little dark out and you can't pick your pins apart. sorry for rambling.
