Default RE: nocks

LOL thanks guys!

I noticed myself pinching my nocks to keep them on the string..well in doing so I was really torquing the arrow (ya not the bow the arrow) We video'd me shooting one nite and man oh man could you see it on the tube!!! Well I thought I had it whooped till the other nite. Been shooting pretty much everyday if nothing more then a few arras in the house to hour and hours at the range. One of my arras started flying funky and dang if the nock wasnt trashed, I think it was something similar to your nocking coming unseated and slamming into the nock damaging it. Needless to say I pulled it off! all be danged if it didnt come off with my finger tips and a mod pull! Guess I was lucky that one didnt blow.

I was wondering if to loose of nocks can effect accuracy? I know to tight of ones will cause bad arra flight directly influencing groups! I have been shooting great the past couple nites so I cant complain...but every once in awhile I catch myself grabbing hold of that nock to keep the arra on and every once in awhile I feel something odd when I shoot, and get some seriously wild arra flight. I figured that was my nocks slipping. I didnt get to shoot today or yesterday for that matter, with that new .025 spectra but I will tomorrow...cant wait, besides I need to get out of this stinkn house! <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>!

Thanks for the idea Akbowhunter but that would be almost to the extent of tying on a 10ft stabalizer LOL! All joking aside I went trad cuz it was simple and fun. Well there are things we do have to mantain and this is one of the many that trad folks seem to overlook. We always harp to tight but rarely do I hear to loose.....I'll keep ya posted to what happens, I am sure I can guess but I wont till I get the hands on....later
