Default RE: Anyone own a Ruger 77/50?

ORIGINAL: tmanmi

. I get it back with letter saying that the sear damage was caused by the non-factory authorized 209 coversion kit. They replaced the sear and put back in the standard firing pin and breech plug and sent back the 209 conversion kit with the gun. They stated that they had fixed the gun this time for free but would not do so again. So anyone considering a 209 conversion kit may want to think twice about it for the 77/50.

.
tmanmi, That was decent of Ruger to repair it for free.Considering you had a non Ruger part installed. Most companies if you used a non factory part(s) it would have voided the warranty.4 months does seem to long for the turn around time.It all depends on their work load. Repairs are made in order they are received. I'm sorry you're not real happy with your M77/50.Chances are you wouldn't of had a problem if you left it as it came from the factory.
