Default NEW TO TURKEY HUNTING PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey,

I have been big into hunting but I live in Central Minnesota and up until a few years ago we didnt have much for turkeys so I have never been turkey hunting. I didn't get drawn last year but I finally did this year and I have a couple areas to hunt where I have seen several very large toms and I have a couple questions I hope someone here can answer. I have heard that turkeys are very difficult to hunt however while scouting I have walked up to an easy 15 yards in plain sight while wearing a white shirt and blue jeans with no problems with scaring the turkeys....to put it simple I dont believe our turkeys have recieved any hunting pressure and to say the least seem pretty dumb and not afraid of people. Lately I have seen several large toms pushing 20-25 lbs with beards that touch the ground when they feed, but I am worried that I am assuming they will be easier to hunt then they actually are. Will it be harder to get into shooting range while actually hunting? Also, I am a bowhunter and was wondering if it would be benificial to me to bowhunt them my first year before they have been pressured? Any help or any information you could give me would be a great help. One last question in the area I hunt I have seen that they are feeding in a small crab-apple patch, should they still be there in mid april when I get to hunt or will they spread out more in the mating season. Any Information on turkeys will help.

THANKS,
