I own two Savage 99's along with many other firearms old and new. I have a Model F in .300 and an old take down in .250. If the safety is on top it is a later made gun. If the safety is on the lever it is older, look at the features on the rifle and you can tell what model it is. I am currently looking for a 99 F in .358 if anybody has one.
