Most Cops don't get into law enforcement to serve and protect in my opinion. Most all the cops that I know got into law enforcement for one of two reasons: A- Because it is good money and great benefits and you don't have to do anything to get it, or B- Because they are power hungry and want to pick on people and "show em whose boss".
That crap about putting their life on the line is crap. Statistics prove that. Of the 100 most dangerous Jobs, police work is ranked in the 90's somewhere. The top three most dangerous jobs in the U.S. are Commercial fisherman, convenience store/ gas station clerk, and taxi cab driver.
Get your facts straight.
Next time you buy your gas why don't you thank him intead of waving at the pig in the cruiser, the clerk has a hundred times better chance of getting gunned down tonight than officer Donothing.

I guess when i went into a smoke filled house and pulled a passed out man outside i didnt risk my life?? He thought i did ,my chief thought i did, the community thought i did. they made a big deal out of it and wanted pictures for the paper and yada yada......... i just wanted to go the deer camp!!!!!
I guess when i stopped a stolen car from little rock with three guys with guns i wasn't risking my life? one of them later made the statement i would have been dead if only one of the guns had been loaded! good for me they were IDIOTS! huh?
And hey the guy that had those guns stolen was sure appreciative of the police at least thats what it says in the letter he wrote me.
Oh and when i found almost $1000 in cash on a sidewalk i should have kept it. i mean i was in with the corrupt pigs. nope i turned it in. hoping maybe someone would claim it that really needed it.
Noone did so it went toward police equipment per a judge.
i could go on about me and MANY others .
And if YOU were a police officer you would have known and read MANY notices per NCIC about officers that had been shot ,in car wrecks........
many come over the net a day. Most officers are killed in car wrecks trying to get somewhere fast and alot of times it's citizens ignorance of what to do that causes them.
Believe it. I think its time for you all to watch Serpico again.
This may be your problem you watch to many movies and dream you are or have been in situations that resemble those scenerios.
