I hunt in northern Maine and carry a rifle, knife, rope, wear a wool shirt, coat, and pants, and a pair of either bean boots or cold weather boots. Our group has been pretty successful without any high tech stuff.

My brother-in-law carrys grunt tubes, bleat calls, lure, pack pack, drag rags, rattling antlers, and food (more stuff most likely). Carries so much junk that he can't hunt more than 100 yards from the road. Shot 1 deer in 10 years of trying.

Its not what you carry but what you know.
