I dont know how often this happens. But I own a Bushnell compact 600 rangefinder. The pair broke in 2 years. I contacted Bushnell they said they could not fix them because they dont have the parts for it. They offered me another pair for full price! I dont think so I am now a Nikon man! That was my experience with Bushnell it wont happen again.
