All good points, but I consider most of those (reticles, turrent knobs) to be "bells and whistles".
Originally my only point was I followed the recommendation of two people who's opinion I value.
It all comes down to use what works for you.

You're absolutely right, everybody's got to decide what works for them. I don't think the "bells & whistles", however, are inconsequential. Anyway, if my first response to you was a little harsh I apologize.
