Hugh, then if your areas are anyway like PA's, do yourself a favor and don't ask. You should prepare yourself to be turned down alot, however, if your polite, professional, cleanly dressed, you might secure a few more spots to hunt. A few tips that have helped me in the past. You shouldn't wait until hunting season before asking. Especially farms, farms are busy right now and can always use extra hands around to bail, move bails and more, offer to help out when you can. Your character right of the bat will make an impression and snap judgement to whether or not you'll get permission.
